Fellowship Hall: Coming Soon!
At the December 2014 General Assembly Meeting, the St. Elizabeth parishioners voted to build the long discussed Fellowship Hall. Following the meeting, Fr. Nikitas commissioned the Building Committee consisting of Tony Agrios, Massina Arvanitis, Florin Curta, Kostas Gakis, Bill Harbilas, Michael Herkov, Ray Issa, Clara Johary, Bob Krefting, and Leo Polopolus.
The Building Committee has met several times and is actively pursuing the project. Currently, we are in the process of designing a structure that will meet a number of community needs including education, administration, social and fund raising functions while staying within the financial resources of the community and honoring the architecture and ambience of the existing church and grounds.
The tentative timeline for the project is to settle on a building design and select a contractor in the summer of 2015 and then embark on an active fundraising campaign during the fall of 2015 and winter of 2016, breaking ground on the building following Easter in 2016.
The Building Committee is continually seeking both formal and informal input from the St. Elizabeth parishioners and friends. Please feel free to contact Building Committee Chair, Michael Herkov (firstname.lastname@example.org; 352 678-0010) or any other committee member with your suggestions or questions. More formal meetings will be held with the parish to keep you updated on the progress of the project and to obtain approval at the various decision points.
